No Query Found lacking
Catchy title eh? Nicely I stole it from a excellent post I just examine over at the Yahoo and google Blog. Which came to me via Matt Cutts twitter feed. (if your not on twitter however go sign up… your truly missing the bandwagon) So very much going on and so little time to blog so I’m heading to just jump in…
A typical question I get from clients is “How do you get our website to Rank?” While there is no short answer to this, I’d like to try…. We keep it uncomplicated, comply with very best practices, and keep an eye on Google’s ever-changing algorithm updates… then adjust accordingly. In all reality developing some thing helpful for that rest of the web will be the best Seo tactic any of us could apply to our websites.
I suggest you all consider a minute and head over for the “Introduction to Google Ranking” Article by Amit Singhal. You will see wherever I found the title for my post… But this is the section of the post I’d like to stage out:
No discussion of Google’s ranking will be complete without asking the frequent – but misguided! – query: “Does Yahoo and google manually edit its final results?” Let me just answer that with our third philosophy: no manual intervention. In our look at, the world-wide-web is made by men and women. You are the ones generating webpages and linking to pages. We're utilizing all this human contribution through our algorithms. The ultimate ordering with the final results is decided by our algorithms applying the contributions with the increased Internet community, not manually by us. We believe that the subjective judgment of any individual is, well … subjective, and info distilled by our algorithms from the vast amount of human know-how encoded within the world-wide-web webpages and their back links is much better than person subjectivity.
So what does that say to you? The world-wide-web is made by people… and I do believe how the root of the internet is very good and most persons are attempting to help others and make a difference on the net. Some are just here to spam you for back links, but you have to consider the very good w/ the poor IMO. Nonetheless this does prove the stage that in the event you create top quality pages meant to enable other people (*see making a resource) you will get for the top in the SERP’s.
Another preferred part in the post is this “We make about ten ranking changes each and every week and simplicity is really a big consideration in launching each alter.” (and this my Search engine marketing is Dead close friends) is why Search engine optimization will by no means die – think about it 10 changes a week… This ain’t no Ron Popiel ‘Set it and overlook it’ rotisserie! It is the world-wide-web, it is Google, it’s ever-changing… Thats why I really enjoy my job!
Also wanted to say thanks to Rob Mineo / Robert Garcia / and Carolyn Shelby (who hasn’t posted nonetheless but swears she will) for all of the posts! I’m heading on vacation for a week and will likely be back middle of subsequent week! As well as the posts don't necessarily reflect the opinions of management. (*That was for my liberal tree hugging buddy)
